Dr. Andrea Kovago

Voice, Piano, and Theory Teacher

Andrea has performed many operatic roles throughout her career and various supporting roles in productions within the United States and Canada. Equally at home in opera venues and recitals, she has often been a featured soloist with many distinguished organizations which include the Oratorio Society of Minnesota, Bach Society of Minnesota, Exultate Chamber Choir and Orchestra, Minnetonka Choral Society, Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and Kensington Sinfonia in Calgary.

During her time in Montréal, she has performed with groups like, the Société philharmonique de Montréal under the baton of Maestro Miklos Takács, Choeur Sorel-Tracy with conductor Josée Laforest and L’Ensemble Con Brio de Montréal. Andrea is one of 16 members in Choeur de Chambre du Québec, a new professional choir composed mainly of young Francophone artists from Quebec, whose artistic director is the choir director, teacher and composer Robert Ingari. http://choeurdechambre.ca/. Besides performing, Andrea is a member of several professional affiliations that include, NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing), ORMTA (Ontario Music Teachers Association), Conservatory Canada, RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music), MTNA (Music Teachers National Association), College Music Society, Opera America, NOA (National Opera Association) and VASTA (Voice and Speech Trainers Association.)

Andrea’s teaching experiences include work at Dalhousie University Department of Music and Arts in Halifax Nova Scotia, The University of Minnesota, Anoka Ramsey Community College in Minnesota, University of Calgary and the University of Lethbridge Music Conservatory. Andrea has been avidly committed to teaching excellence and mentoring singers of all ages and levels for more than 20 years
